Hyggeligt is a Danish word that doesn’t have a direct English translation. It is often translated as cozy, but for the Danes it’s quite a lot more. It encompasses the feeling of warmth, intimacy, and contentment that comes from simple pleasures and spending time with loved ones. And that has been our inspiration in creating Hyggeligt Hus.
Come enjoy a peaceful retreat in the majestic landscape of the Algoma region of Northern Ontario, 40 minutes northeast of Sault Ste. Marie (or as the locals call it, the Soo!). Just sit back, unwind and enjoy the many local attractions. Come equipped to enjoy the trails through all four seasons, whether it’s by bicycle, ATV, snow mobile or a canoe trip down the down the Goulais River. Or simply sit outside and enjoy a campfire or enjoy the scenery from your screened-in porch.
Fall colours overlooking the valley are spectacular! The Agawa Canyon Tour Train is one of the most popular train tours in North America. On your way from the Soo, you will cross the train tracks for this tour seven times.
Hyggeligt Hus has been tailored to make your stay unique and unforgettable. And your hosts are keen to ensure that the end of your stay will have you planning your return.
